Bullying

The ECASD takes bullying very seriously. The definition of bullying is when someone is exposed, repeatedly and over time, to negative actions on the part of one or more other persons, and he or she has difficulty defending himself or herself. Here are some resources to help parents and students with bullying.

Bullying at School and Online - Ten Actions Parents Can Take to Help With Bullying

Safe 2 Say

Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late.

ECASD Students can access Safe2Say on their Classlink Launch Pad and the URL https://www.p3campus.com/TipForm.aspx?ID=3085

Ellwood City Schools participate in the Ellwood City Bread Basket Program.  This program is an extension of the Feeding American BackPack Program, which has been fighting against hunger in America for more than 15 years.  The program's goal is to help provide children with nutritious, easy-to-prepare food to take home on the weekends when other resources are unavailable.

ECASD participates in this program, hoping that none of our students go hungry over the weekends.  To ensure that your child confidentially receives their bag of food on Fridays, each building has a procedure to distribute the food at the end of the day; North Side and Perry teachers put the bags in student backpacks at discreet times; Hartman students pick their bags up in the Nurse's office at the end of the day, and Lincoln students pick their bags up in the Guidance office at the end of the day.  If your student(s) is in need of this program for this school year, we ask that you contact your child's school counselor.
